A 60-year-old woman died at the Days Inn in Bend this afternoon, according to Bend Police. She was the victim of an apparent drowning.
Bend Police responded to the hotel around 2:30 after an employee reported an unresponsive woman in the pool.
The employees pulled the woman from the pool and started CPR.
Bend Fire and Rescue took over the CPR, but they were unsuccessful. The woman, whose name hasn’t been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Thursday police identified the victim as Bonnie Peterson of Bend.
Bend Police reviewed video surveillance footage and found the woman was alone in the pool, and they determined foul play is not suspected.
Alcohol and drugs may have been a factor, according to Sergeant Tommy Russell. The Deschutes County Medical Examiner is conducting an investigation.
