A Washington woman was injured Sunday when the horse he was riding bucked her off near Quinn Creek Trail.
Deschutes County dispatch received a call just before 1 p.m. from someone saying a horse rider had fallen from her horse and was seriously injured.
The incident happened at the Quinn Meadow Horse Camp off the Cascade Lakes Highway near Elk Lake.
Search and Rescue later determined the rider, 60-year-old Dona Kondro of Toutle, Wash. had been bucked off her horse.
Two Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and 12 Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Volunteers responded to help Kondro.
The deputies arrived on scene, located about three-quarters of a mile down the Quinn Creek Trail, around 1:45 PM.
DCSO SAR volunteers arrived on scene a short time later.
Members of the DCSO SAR medical team tended to Kondro, who was then taken to the Quinn Meadow Trailhead via wheeled litter, arriving around 2:55 PM where Sunriver Fire and Rescue was waiting.
She was then taken by ambulance to St. Charles in Bend for further treatment.
