Washington man killed in 3-car crash near Madras; 2 others injured

A Washington man died and two others were seriously injured Tuesday in a three-car crash near Madras, according to Oregon State Police.

The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. on Highway 26 near milepost 112.

The preliminary investigation revealed a Nissan Pathfinder, driven by a 71-year-old woman from Milwaukie was driving west when it tried to pass a Dodge Ram towing a travel trailer, driven by a 65-year-old woman from North Plains.

The pathfinder collided with an eastbound Infinity driven by 26-year-old Ryan Gile of Vancouver, Wash.

The driver of the Pathfinder was taken to St. Charles in Madras and then flown to St. Charles in Bend.

A 71-year-old man riding in the Pathfinder was also injured and flown to St. Charles in Bend.

Gile was taken to St. Charles in Madras where he was pronounced dead.
