Warm weather cancels several skating sessions at The Pavilion in Bend


Several public skating programs have been canceled at The Pavilion in Bend as the ice rink deals with around-the-clock unseasonably warm weather.

  • Friday, Nov. 12: Closed now. All sessions canceled.
  • Saturday, Nov. 13: Closing at 10:25 am. Skate lessons and workshop to be held; all other sessions canceled.
  • Sunday, Nov. 14: Closing at 11:00 a.m. Adult Pick-up Hockey at 7:00 am to be held; all other sessions canceled.
  • Monday, Nov. 15: To be determined.

“To all our skaters, hockey players and curlers, thank you for your understanding as we have to be extra diligent to preserve early season ice,” Bend Parks and Recreation said on its Facebook page.

The ice rink opened in mid-October as cooler temperatures arrived in Bend.

Temperatures have been in the low to mid-50s this week in Bend and will reach the 60s over the weekend.

November temperatures in Bend are typically in the mid to upper 40s.
