Two homes have caught fire on the same street in La Pine within a three-day period.
La Pine Rural Fire Protection District firefighters were called to a house fire Monday evening at around 6:45 p.m. after neighbors reported seeing smoke and flames.
The fire started in the living room of the single wide manufactured home at 52540 Antler Ln.
Thirteen firefighters, an engine, two tenders, and five members of the district’s supporting team showed up to fight the fire, and they contained it within seven minutes of arrival.
Electrical circuits in the area are being investigated as a potential cause.
Another structure fire was reported on Saturday morning just before 1 a.m. down the road at 52586 Antler Ln.
The owner was able to get out safely, and firefighters worked for four hours to contain the flames.
It was not the owner’s main house, and the property was not insured.
A kerosene lamp is thought to be the potential cause.
Neither fire is considered suspicious at this time.
