An excavator on the back of a truck struck and damaged the Franklin Avenue underpass in Bend Thursday morning.
Nobody was injured, and the driver, a 46-year-old Bend man, was not cited.
According to police, dispatchers were called to the underpass about 9 a.m. after the boom on an excavator being hauled through the underpass struck the parkway bridge and railroad bridge.
Debris fell from the bridges onto Franklin Avenue, but no other vehicles were involved or struck by the debris.
Bend Public Works closed Franklin Avenue at the underpass for about two hours while the Oregon Department of Transportation and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway inspected the bridges.
