▶️ Transgender Awareness Week hopes to foster a better understanding

There are more than a million adults across the U.S. who identify as transgender.

According to the Human Dignity Coalition, there are thousands of transgender individuals right here in Central Oregon.

This week and every week, they’re hoping to bring awareness to what it means to be transgender and how the community can find more understanding.

Organizations here in Central Oregon are changing the perception fo what it means to be transgender and teaching other how to be better allies to them during National Transgender Awareness Week.

Central Oregon Daily’s Anyssa Bohanan sat down today with those who know how important educating others is firsthand.
