Every year on the summer solstice, the Alzheimer’s association holds a nationwide fundraiser known as “the longest day” to raise funds and awareness for those suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia. Central Oregon Daily’s Anyssa Bohanan sat down with a local woman with a personal connection to the disease and a caregiver whose job working with Alzheimer’s and dementia patients turned into a second family.
