The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Thursday morning arrested a Bend man on cocaine and heroin charges after a weeks-long investigation.
Sgt. Jayson Janes said the DCSO street crimes unit started an investigation into 31-year-old Danylo Moskalyuk of Bend in early January. Detectives received information that Moskalyuk was involved in the delivery of heroin in Deschutes County.
Early Thursday, deputies contacted Moskalyuk, who had a warrant out for his arrest. Janes said Moskalyuk was also in possession of cocaine.
He was arrested, taken to the Deschutes County Jail and charged with several drug-related crimes including unlawful manufacture, possession and delivery of cocaine and unlawful manufacture, possession and delivery of heroin.
Janes said detectives were granted a warrant to search Moskalyuk’s house in the 100 block of Greeley Avenue in Bend. During the search, detectives recovered suspected heroin, cocaine, LSD, various prescription pills, currency, digital scales, and packaging material.
Detectives also seized a handgun and ammunition. Moskalyuk is a convicted felon and not allowed to legally possess a firearm, Janes said.
