Democrats pushed legislation through the house that would codify the right to use contraceptives into law. It’s a response to concerns that a conservative Supreme Court could go further in reversing past decisions after overturning Roe v. Wade.

The bill will head to the Senate, where it will likely die.

Democrats cast the court and the Republicans as extremists intent on obliterating rights that have been signed into law for decades.
