Fire destroyed a home in NW Redmond early Saturday morning.
Crews found the two-story home at 319 NW Fir Ave. engulfed about 1:30 a.m.
The surrounding of the structure was difficult to access due to a large amount of debris, according to Battalion Chief Ron Hawkins. And the structure was not stable enough for crews to go inside.
The home partially collapsed shortly after the first arriving units attacked the fire, forcing crews to fight it with a defensive strategy.
Fire crews worked through the night to extinguish the fire and had difficulties accessing hot spots due to the roof collapse and void spaces.
Hawkins said the two-story house was in foreclosure and apparently unoccupied at the time.
The estimated loss was $150,000
