Redmond man arrested after fatal pedestrian hit-and-run

A Redmond man was arrested Friday night after a hit-and-run that killed a 90-year-old pedestrian, according to police.

Just after 6 p.m. Friday, Redmond Police and Redmond Fire & Rescue were dispatched to the area of NW 6th Street and NW Kingwood Avenue for a report of a car crash involving a pedestrian.

Officers learned 90-year-old Leroy Hall was hit first by a maroon 2018 GMC Yukon and hit again by a second vehicle.

The driver of the Yukon, 19-year-old Anthony Vasquez, left the scene while the driver of the second vehicle remained on the scene, police said.

About 10 minutes later, officers found the Yukon and Vasquez near SW 15th Street and SW Metolius Avenue.

Vasquez was arrested and taken to the Deschutes County Jail on multiple charges including first-degree manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run and DUII.

The incident remains under investigation by Redmond Police.
