Proposed Changes to SNAP Could Have Big Impacts Locally

The Trump administration has proposed massive changes to the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – better known as SNAP. The program started in 1964 to help low income families put food on their table.

The changes could cut more than 30 million Americans from the program, including 60,000 Oregonians. Central Oregon Daily’s Anyssa Bohanan talked with Bend-La Pine School District nutrition services leaders today about the potential impacts locally.
