A Prineville man was arrested for DUII after crashing into an irrigation ditch Saturday, according to the Crook County Sheriff’s Office.
Stephen Cody Bushnell, 19, was driving east on NW O’Neill Hwy around 4 P.M. while talking on the phone with his girlfriend.
He then over-corrected while making a turn, crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic, and drove off the road.
His gold Mazda MZ3 sedan rolled over and landed upright in the irrigation canal.
Bushnell climbed out of the vehicle himself, and Crook County Sheriff’s deputies found that he was not injured.
Deputies said he smelled strongly of alcohol and admitted to drinking, and a half-consumed bottle of vodka was found in the car.
Breath samples revealed the teen’s Blood Alcohol Concentration was .24, which is three times the legal limit for those over 21 years of age.
Bushnell was then arrested on DUII and Reckless Driving charges and booked at the Crook County Jail with a $20,000 bail.
