Prineville man injured after RV slams into railway bridge abutment

  |

A Prineville man was injured Monday when he crashed his RV into a concrete bridge abutment, according to the Crook County Sheriff’s Office.

Sgt. Tim Durheim said damage was so great, the bridge will be unusable by the railway for an extended period of time.

The crash happened just before 10 a.m. on Highway 26 near Elliott Lane.

Durheim said 61-year-old Jeffrey Anderson was heading north in a 1991 Beaver Coach when he left the road and hit the bridge.

Anderson was ejected from the RV and taken to St. Charles in Prineville with minor injuries, Durheim said.

The highway was closed for several hours while the scene was processed and debris was cleaned up.

Durheim said the investigation was ongoing.
