A Prineville man was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs early Tuesday morning after crashing into another vehicle in Bend, according to police.
Bend Police Lt. Juli McConkey said officers responded to a rollover crash on North Hwy 97 near Grandview Drive about 7:00 am. She said the investigation showed a black Jeep Wrangler driven by 32-year-old Timothy Leahy Jr. of Prineville was driving south on Hwy 97 near Grandview Drive when he crossed all lanes of travel and struck a northbound silver Honda Accord, driven by a 30-year-old Bend man.
Once the Jeep struck the Honda, the Jeep rolled and blocked the northbound lanes of the highway for about 45 minutes. Bend Police was assisted by the Oregon State Police and Oregon Department of Transportation.
Bend Medics arrived on scene and treated both drivers for non-life threatening injuries, McConkey said.
Leahy Jr. was arrested for DUII-drugs and reckless driving. He was taken to the Deschutes County Jail, McConkey said.
The same Jeep Wrangler was called in as a possible intoxicated or sleepy driver at 5:24 am at NW 43rd St and NW Lower Bridge Way Monday, but deputies and troopers were unable to locate the vehicle.
