Prineville man killed, Bend woman injured in Eastern Oregon crash

A Prineville man was killed and a Bend woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 20 in Malheur County Tuesday, Oregon State Police said.

The crash happened about 7:04 a.m. just east of Nyssa.

OSP said a Toyota Tundra driven by Tad Stringam, 48, 0f Prineville was headed east across the Nyssa Snake River Bridge when it slid into the westbound lane.

A commercial vehicle was headed west across the bridge and swerved, trying to avoid the collision. The Toyota hit the vehicle and Stringam was ejected, OSP said.

Stringam died at the scene. A Bend woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

OSP did not disclose injuries, if any, to the commercial vehicle driver.
