Prineville Disposal sells to Republic Services, ending 43-year run in Crook County

After 43 years of service, Prineville Disposal is heading to the curb.

The family-owned waste company has decided to move on and is selling to Republic Services – the same company that bought Bend Garbage and Recycling last year.

“We’re going to continue on with some of the traditions that Prineville Disposal had set, such as participating in the fireworks display, banging on drums during the parade and being a big part of the Prineville Roundup,” said Kristin Steiner, GM of Republic Services. “So we’re looking forward to rolling up our sleeves and getting to know the community.”

Steiner said customers shouldn’t notice much of a change. You’l still have the same local team answering the phones and collecting your waste.
