Portland murder suspect arrested in NW Bend home

A man wanted for a Portland murder was arrested Saturday at a home in Bend, according to police.

Sgt. Rob Emerson said Bend PD was contacted by detectives from the Portland Police Bureau regarding a homicide investigation.

Detectives learned the man was living in Bend at a house in the 1700 block of NW 9th St.

The suspect was identified as 32-year-old Thomas E. Cooper, Jr., and Bend Police learned he had a warrant for his arrest for murder, Emerson said.

A search warrant for the residence Cooper was located at was also obtained.

The Central Oregon Emergency Response Team (CERT) was asked to assist with the arrest of Cooper based on the risk level, Emerson said.

On Saturday night just before midnight, the CERT team was able to contact Cooper at the home.

He was arrested without incident and released to PPB Detectives, who completed the investigation.
