Portland International Airport will require face coverings for everyone beginning Monday, May 18th.
According to the airport’s website, children under the age of 2 and people with medical conditions that prevent wearing a face covering are exempt from the new rule.
The policy includes the use of a face covering anywhere inside the terminal, including the pedestrian tunnels and the rental car center.
“As the CDC and Multnomah County Public Health have clarified, cloth face coverings can be made from common materials and are meant to protect other people in case you are infected and don’t know it,” the site says. “Face coverings do not need to be surgical masks or N-95 respirators, and they don’t replace other critical health measures like washing your hands and keeping your distance from others.”
