Parents Unhappy with Airlines’ Treatment of Their Special Needs Kids

Nine special needs kids were stranded overnight in a Charlottesville, Virginia airport after their flight back to Portland was grounded for maintenance.

Parents say their children were not fed real meals, weren’t properly supervised and were forced to spend the night on the floor in a small room.

American Airlines released a statement Portland’s KATU saying “Our team is in the process of reaching out to the families involved and sincerely apologizes for this travel experience. We will be reviewing with our teams internally to understand how we can do better next time.”

Central Oregon Daily’s Dalton Roth talked to some of the parents today to learn more about the ordeal.
