When’s the last time you’ve been able to say this? The average price for gasoline in Oregon is below $4 per gallon.
Barely.
AAA reports a gallon of regular unleaded, on average, costs $3.995 Monday. That’s down another 21 cents from a week ago and 80 cents from this time last month.
In Bend, the average is $4.03, which was actually a slight increase from Sunday. But it’s down about 19 cents from last week and nearly 80 cents from last month.

Nationally the average is $3.26 per gallon.
“The relief is saving Americans roughly $20 per fill-up compared to six months ago,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “On the previously hard-hit West Coast, average prices have fallen nearly $2 per gallon since October. Fifteen states now have average gasoline prices of $2.99 or less, with several more to join this week. We remain on schedule to see the national average gas price fall below $3 (nationally) by Christmas, with diesel set to fall 50 cents to $1 per gallon over the next six weeks or so. While the Keystone Pipeline shutdown has been getting some attention, motorists need not worry much about the oil-carrying pipeline for now. There is no expected impact to gasoline prices as of now.”

Average diesel prices in Oregon are down to $5.10, a drop of 45 cents from a month ago. They’re $5.13 in Bend.
