OHA reports 6 new COVID deaths; Deschutes Co. cases drop 5 straight weeks

COVID-19 has claimed six more lives in Oregon raising the state’s death toll to 465, the Oregon Health Authority reported Tuesday.

The OHA reported 243 new confirmed and presumptive cases bringing the state total to 26,946.

The new cases are in the following counties: Baker (4), Benton (4), Clackamas (26), Clatsop (1), Deschutes (1), Douglas (1), Hood River (2), Jackson (10), Jefferson (4), Josephine (4), Lane (9), Lincoln (2), Malheur (10), Marion (39), Morrow (2), Multnomah (50), Polk (4), Umatilla (15), Union (1), Washington (42), and Yamhill (12).

Deschutes County has reported declining numbers each of the last five weeks.

The 20 cases reported last week are the fewest in one week since the week of June 21-27 when there were 26 cases.

Overall, the county has reported 693 COVID cases and 11 deaths.

Crook County has reported 55 total cases and one death.

Jefferson County has reported 461 cases and seven deaths.
