Residents of Metolius will decide the fate of their current mayor after he was arrested twice in the past 18 months for assault and drunk driving.
Mayor John Chavez didn’t serve his jail sentence and failed to report his legal troubles to the Metolius City Council, which he chairs.
Recall ballots have been mailed to all 570 residents of this small town near Madras. The ballots have to be returned by October 8th.
