Man suspected in 3 Bend homicides pleads not guilty

A Bend man pleaded not guilty Thursday to three counts of second-degree murder in a bizarre case dating back to Christmas Day last year.

Randall Kilby, 35, is accused of killing 43-year-old Daphne Dawn Killian-Banks, 66-year-old Jeffrey Taylor and 69-year-old Benjamin Taylor.

In January, Killian-Banks was taken off life-support after suffering injuries from an assault in a home on Christmas Day.

In late March, the two brothers-in-law were found dead inside the same home.

That home, located at 60971 Granite Drive was destroyed by fire in early April.

Kilby’s mother, Darlene Allen, was living at the home at the time of the alleged murders.

According to Deschutes County District Attorney John Hummel, Allen told police she saw her son kill Jeffrey Taylor with a hatchet after an argument.

She was able to get help and lead police to her son the next day, Hummel said.
