Madras Police identify fatal shooting victim; suspects await court date

Madras Police on Tuesday identified the victim of a fatal shooting last week as 18-year-old Jonathan Bonfield.

Bonfield, who lived and went to school in Madras, died of at least one gunshot wound on July 1st, according to police.

Two brothers, 18-year-old Jakobi Washington and 19-year-old Josiah Washington have been charged with Bonfield’s murder and will be arraigned on Thursday.

Madras Police Sgt. Steve Webb said the shooting happened at a house around 11:30 p.m. after an altercation among the three men.

 

Both brothers believed to be involved in the shooting were later located at 1015 SW Kenwood Drive, about a quarter-mile from the scene of the shooting, Webb said.

The two remain in jail and have been charged with Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Homicide, second-degree Conspiracy to Commit Murder and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
