Madras fugitive arrested on attempted murder charges; suspected of shooting girlfriend in October

A Madras man was arrested Monday, wanted on attempted murder charges following a shooting in October.

Troy Minson, Jr. was arrested after multiple deputies and officers with the Madras Police, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police and Central Oregon Emergency Response team executed a search warrant at a home on SW Bell Street just before 3 p.m.

Police had been searching for Minson after a 28-year-old woman was shot during a domestic dispute on October 1st.

Days after the shooting, police made two arrests: 28-year-old Trevor Billingsley and 30-year-old Gregory Minson. At the time, they executed a warrant at a Madras home looking for Troy Minson, who they suspected of shooting his former girlfriend, but he wasn’t there.

Minson was charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and menacing.
