▶️ Local students tackling plastic pollution in 28th annual “Inventerprise” science contest

The 28th annal “Invterprise” science competition is wrapping up this week with students dropping off their entries to be judged.

This year’s task: Solve the plastic pollution crisis.

Each year, the contest poses a question to spark the imaginations of would-be scientists, challenging them to pursue inventive solutions to pressing problems. The contest is sponsored by Bend Research Inc., as part of Lonza Pharma Biotech, with assistance from the Bend-La Pine School District and Central Oregon Community College.

Central Oregon Daily’s Hannah Sievert talked with a couple of young inventors about their ideas and has more on the competition.
