Police are still looking for a convicted sex offender who cut off his ankle-monitoring bracelet and disappeared over four days ago.
Convicted sex offender David Dale Cook was released from jail Thursday after a parole violation and removed his ankle-monitoring bracelet around 8 pm later that evening near the River Woods Country Store off of north Highway 97.
Cook was released from prison in August of 2017 after serving 100 months in prison for two counts of rape and one count of sodomy. He was then placed on 140 months of post-prison supervision.
As a sex offender, Cook was placed on the highest level of supervision and surveillance. Once his GPS monitoring bracelet was cut and discarded Thursday night, officers were able to respond in minutes.
Law enforcement is continuing to actively search for Cook.
