La Pine woman accused of setting her own 5th-wheel trailer on fire

A La Pine woman was arrested Sunday after she allegedly set fire to her 5th-wheel travel trailer, according to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.

Sgt. William Bailey said 31-year-old Jessica Adams called 911 around 6:30 a.m. Sunday saying her trailer was on fire. When firefighters arrived to the scene, located in the 52000 block of Sunrise Blvd., the trailer was engulfed in flames.

La Pine firefighters put out the fire, which damaged the trailer and a free-standing wood carport.

A State Fire Marshall’s Office Investigator and an Oregon State Police Arson Unit Detective responded to investigate the cause of the fire.

Bailey said Adams initially reported the fire had been set by her ex-boyfriend.  However, the investigation revealed Adams intentionally set the trailer on fire; destroying the trailer, its contents, as well as damaging the carport, Bailey said.

Adams was arrested by a citation and charged with second-degree arson, reckless burning and initiating a false report.
