The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday recovered a body from Lake Billy Chinook, believed to be the man who went missing last week and threatened to kill himself.
Sheriff Jim Adkins said the body was found about 75 feet offshore of the Deschutes arm of the reservoir.
Adkins said the man walked away from his home at the Lake Billy Chinook Air Park subdivision on Aug. 9th. They knew he was suicidal at the time but did not have information that he’d followed through the threat.
Adkins said he believed the man jumped off the rim shortly after leaving his house.
