House Committee Considers Law In Honor of Bend Woman

The family of a murdered bend woman testified before a House Committee this afternoon to support a bill called “Kaylee’s Law”.

Kaylee Sawyer was murdered by COCC campus safety officer in July 2016 and the proposed law is designed to restrict and limit the authority and duties of campus safety officers across the state to prevent another death like Kaylee’s in the future.

The Senate already passed “Kaylee’s Law” by a unanimous vote and the next step in the process in the House is a committee work session, which is scheduled for later this week.
