He was recognized as one of the greatest American architects of all time, and a piece of his last work still sits in Oregon. Frank Lloyd Wright died in 1959, but before the 91 year old passed, he designed one final home for a family in Oregon.
The Gordon family admired Wright’s work and wanted a home built along the Willamette River. Wright agreed to design it, but died before his design was brought to life.
Now, after a move that is almost unbelievable, the Gordon House sits on the grounds of the Oregon State Garden in Silverton. And, in this week’s Destination Oregon, Central Oregon Daily’s Mackenzie Wilson takes you on a tour of it.
Special thanks to Robberson Ford for sponsoring our Destination Oregon series.
