A local service organization is asking for young people to apply for its hands-on work experience program.
Heart of Oregon Corps is looking for 12 participants for its next Americorps Public Lands Service program.
The next project begins November 11th in Prineville.
“This is an exciting opportunity, where young people can do three months of national public service on public lands while improving their career skills, earning a stipend and earning an education award to use for future training or college courses,” said Laura Handy, executive director for Heart of Oregon.
Handy said the work is primarily outdoors. Crews work on trail building, creating fencing, invasive species control and other projects.
