Fire crews responded to a fire reported near Prineville in the Crestview area Friday afternoon. The blaze was contained to less than five acres.
The brush fire threatened four buildings including two homes. Crook County Fire and Rescue say the cause was due to a burn barrel too close to combustibles.
Central Oregon Fire Information says the fire was contained with the help of a multi-agency response. Forward progress was stopped as of 2:00 p.m. crews are now beginning the mop-up phase.
There are no reported injuries.
Redmond fire assisted by covering calls while Crook County Fire and Rescue worked the fire.
