A fire heavily damaged a Southeast Bend home Friday night.
The home at 20650 Coventry Circle was unoccupied at the time and was in the process of being renovated, according to a fire department press release.
The 9-1-1 call from neighbors came in just after 8:30 p.m. Three engines arrived to find the home engulfed, forcing the crews to fight it defensively from the outside.
Two Central Oregon Interagency Dispatch wildland fire engines were also called to the scene to patrol possible spot fires in the heavily wooded area.
Construction crews were at the house earlier in the day working on the renovation. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Woodside Ranch neighborhood home is owned by Brian and Kerri Ely. Estimated losses were $200,000 to the structure and $5,000 to the contents inside.
