A Bend man was arrested on drunk driving charges Thursday night after police say he deliberately tried to run over a woman driving a motorcycle, ran from police during a traffic stop and damaged a police car after getting caught.
According to Cpl. Kyle Voll, officers responded about 9:30 p.m. to a drunk driver call at The Bend Box Factory. Witnesses told police the driver was trying to hit pedestrians and was seen trying to run over a 26-year-old woman on a motorcycle.
Witnesses described the suspected vehicle, a 2015 Jeep Compass. Within minutes, 911 received two additional calls of a drunk driver in the downtown area with a description that matched the initial suspect.
Police spotted the Jeep downtown near NW Bond and NW Minnesota. During the traffic stop, 21-year-old Cameron Hall ran from police but was caught after a short chase near Franklin Avenue. He then damaged a police car after he was arrested.
Hall was charged with multiple crimes including DUII, first-degree assault, reckless driving and reckless endangering.
