A Bend man was arrested on assault charges Tuesday after an alleged confrontation with his wife and another man, according to Bend Police.
Lt. Juli McConkey said officers responded to a 911 call at a home in the 61000 block of Ladera Road around 10:45 p.m. Officers learned the suspect had left the scene prior to their arrival.
When officers arrived at the home, they contacted 38-year-old Matthew Richards and 38-year-old Cecilea Cardin, both of Bend.
During the investigation, officers determined both Cecilea Cardin and Richards had injuries following a confrontation with 43-year-old Justin Cardin, Cecilea’s husband.
Cecilea Cardin was injured but did not require medical treatment.
Richards was injured and required medical treatment, but his injuries were not life-threatening, McConkey said.
As the investigation continued Justen Cardin was determined to be the suspect in this assault case.
McConkey said Justin Cardin did not know Richards prior to the assault.
Justen Cardin was later contacted away from the home and taken into custody without incident.
He also required medical treatment, but his injuries were not life-threatening.
Justin Cardin was taken to the Deschutes County Jail on several charges including first-degree assault, fourth-degree assault, menacing and harassment.
