Deschutes County tested its vote tabulation system Tuesday in preparation for the May 16 election.
These tests are run prior to every election. County elections officials say it’s an important part of their checks and balances.
“Each election is different. So the ballots that we have for each election have a unique combination of contests and candidates. So it’s important that we test each election to to ensure that each one of those ovals is tabulating the way we expect it to,” said Deschutes County Clerk Steve Dennison.
