Deschutes County is set to test its emergency alert system Wednesday and officials are reminding residents to make sure they’re signed up to receive these important notifications.
The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and Deschutes County 911 will send a test message at 1:00 p.m., which will include information on things like evacuation orders in the event of an emergency.
If you live or work in the county, officials say it’s crucial that you’re signed up for these alerts. You can do so by visiting the Deschutes Alerts website at deschutesalerts.org. This is also where you can check your current profile to ensure that all of your information is up to date.
If you don’t receive a message within a few hours on Wednesday and you believe you’re signed up, you can call Deschutes Alert at 541-388-6501 to figure out what’s wrong.
