▶️ Deschutes Co. DA rejects new state data on human trafficking; says DOJ is crying wolf

The Oregon Department of Justice and Department of Human Services on Thursday released new data that identified more than 2,000 victims of human trafficking over a 12-month period ending last October.

According to the report, 48 of the victims were in Deschutes County.

But Deschutes County DA John Hummel said the data is false and an example of the DOJ crying wolf.

Central Oregon Daily’s Brooke Snavely talked to Hummel and has the story.
