DA Still Unclear on Motive for Bend Shooting

The Deschutes County District Attorney released a statement Wednesday stating he still does not have a clear idea why a Bend man shot his neighbors last fall.

The shooting happened on October 20th when 31-year-old Tyler Herrick first shot and killed his neighbor, 33-year-old Kyle Adams, then proceeded to stalk Adams’ roommate Brennen Pebbles.

Investigators said Pebbles eventually shot and killed Herrick in self defense.

DA John Hummel said in a statement Herrick’s behavior was likely the result of a psychotic episode, but they have no idea what triggered it.

Toxicology reports found only marijuana and a common allergy medication in Herrick’s blood.
