COVID-19: Regal, Tin Pan theaters end screenings for foreseeable future

Bend’s Regal and Tin Pan theaters announced they will close for the foreseeable future “as a precaution amid the current circumstances.”

“It’s our goal to provide a safe and healthy environment for our employees and guests,” Regal said in an email. “We value your patronage and have no doubt we will be serving you again as soon as possible with a full slate of Hollywood blockbusters.”

Regal joined a handful of other retailers to close or reduce hours in Bend’s Old Mill District.

Bend’s Tin Pan Theater also has canceled screenings and Scalehouse’s IndieWomxn Film Festival, panels and parties due to COVID-19 concerns.

BendFilm Executive Director Todd Looby said they would work hard to reschedule all the events, if possible, and would honor those who have purchased tickets already.

“In times like this, we turn to the arts to decompress, process and conjure up creative solutions to the challenges and opportunities in front of us,” he said. “We are doing all we can to connect virtually at a time when we cannot connect in person.”
