COVID-19, not Mother Nature, closes Hoodoo for the season

Recent state and federal guidelines on social distancing has forced Hoodoo to close for the season, according to a letter from the ski area’s GM.

Matthew McFarland said the Sisters-area resort had implemented all the hygiene measures recommended by the CDC, but even with preventative efforts, “there are far more than 25 people who congregate at the bottom of the lifts for a ride up to enjoy the mountain.”

“COVID-19 has certainly been devastating, to say the least,” he wrote. “We hope it will not disrupt you or your families’ lives any more than it already has. We want you all to stay well.

McFarland said any leftover gift certificates, AnyCards or vouchers that were dated for this season would be honored next season.
