Local high schoolers got a glimpse of a future career in health care Friday.

Central Oregon Community College hosted a career expo where high schoolers participated in a full day of hands on activities, classes and got to learn from current and former COCC students, instructors and professionals.

“So we just want to introduce them to dental assisting, vet tech, phlebotomy, CNA, medical assisting, massage therapy. A lot of these are entrance level programs within one term to one year they can be licensed or certified, get their foot in the door and see where it takes them,” said Health Careers Public Outreach Coordinator Jill Ridling.
