▶️ Bend ultrarunner sets new world record for indoor 50K; more on his inspiring story coming Thursday

Bend ultrarunner Mario Mendoza on Tuesday set a new world record for running a 50K indoors.

The decorated runner made the attempt at Madras High School where he works as an assistant track coach and has spent time with youth in the community.

Mendoza finished the 31 miles in 2:59:03, smashing the old record by 44 seconds.
