A 16-year-old boy from Bend was arrested Thursday after police said he made several threats with a gun against three other teens on social media.
The gun, the investigation revealed, turned out to be a BB gun,
Bend Police say the teen made two threats on September 1st and 2nd, stemming from an ongoing dispute between the two groups. The posts involved the teen threatening two 16-year-olds and an 18-year-old with a gun. Police prepared a search warrant for the suspects social media accounts and his house.
Thursday morning, the teen suspect was taken into custody.
Officers and detectives from the Bend Police Department executed the warrant at the juvenile’s residence and recovered the mentioned firearm, which was discovered to be a BB gun. The suspect was taken to the Deschutes County Juvenile Detention Center where he was lodged on three charges of menacing and second-degree disorderly conduct.
