A Bend man who police say has an extensive criminal history was arrested Monday morning following an alleged assault.
Bend Police said Brandon Leroy Collins, 35, was arrested for fourth degree assault stemming from an incident in the 100 block of SW Hayes Avenue last week.
Police say the Central Oregon Emergency Response Team was activated to arrest Collins in the 56000 block of Venture Lane in Sunriver around 7:35 a.m. Monday. He was taken into custody without incident, police said.

Officers allegedly found a handgun in Collins’ 2007 white Dodge Charger. An AR-15 with no serial number was found in the trunk, police said. Both weapons were allegedly loaded with rounds in the chambers.
police say collins was taken to the deschutes county jail on charges of fouth degree assault, three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and duii.
