▶️ Bend ReStore opening 7 days a week for first time

  |

The Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Bend said Tuesday that it will be open seven days a week starting this weekend. It’s the first time the store will be open all week long.

The new hours for shopping will be 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Donations will be taken 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

“By our opening on Sundays, we hope to offer those with limited time during the week an extra opportunity to shop and donate to ReStore,” ReStore Manager Cole Smith said in a statement. “This, in turn, helps us with our ultimate goal, which is to help provide much needed affordable housing in our community.”

There are plans for a new ReStore in Redmond, two years after the previous location shut down. It will be just south of the Motel 6 on Highway 97.

Mellissa Kamanya, Habitat’s Director of Grant Management, said Habitat hopes to break ground on the new store this summer and tentatively open in late summer or early fall of 2023. She said moving from a leased building to a new one Habitat owns will allow it to design an optimal structure for its purposes. It will also allow Habitat to use more of the income for its projects.

ReStore said it is still seeking volunteers. More information can be found at this link.

Habitat for Humanity said it is currently building eight townhomes in Bend on 18th St. and 10 townhomes in Redmond on Quince Ave.
