▶️ Video of drivers drifting in roundabouts leads to arrests, Bend Police say

Two Redmond men suspected of reckless driving, including allegedly street racing and drifting in roundabouts, were found thanks to videos posted on Instagram, Bend Police said Tuesday. Police released video showing some of the incidents.

Mason Eugene Price and Tyler Aaron Fox, both 22, were arrested on suspicion of reckless driving, police said. Price was also arrested for driving while suspended.

Bend Police say the investigation started in August with traffic complaints about the behavior from across Central Oregon.

“During the same time period, officers learned of multiple public Instagram posts showing this bad driving behavior on our roads,” Bend Police said in a statement. “In one instance on Aug. 21, a witness called to report multiple vehicles drifting through the roundabout at NE Cooley Road and 18th Street, which matched a video posted to one of the Instagram accounts on Aug. 22.”

Bend Police said its traffic team was able to identify the vehicles and their registered owners. They examined the social media posts and allegedly were able to positively identify drivers in the videos as Price and Fox.

Price was arrested last Thursday and Fox was arrested Friday. More drivers could also be cited, police said.

Anyone who sees dangerous driving, including street racing, is asked to call 911 or nonemergency dispatch at 541-693-6911.
